Ok, I lied, one more...

So, I wanted to post our weekend in Ottawa. We went to Ottawa last Friday for Alexander's First Communion. He also was playing in his last hockey tournament for the season. So, I do want to post some pictures for my family. Duane's best friend, Kevin, and his family drive up from Windsor, ON. And my Dad drove in from Sudbury. We had a great time. Too bad that Darryl didn't get to join us but he was too busy shooting the enemy at paintball!!!

Trying out the new trampoline. Shamus was a bit nervous at first but Duane won him over.

It was tough to get a clear picture because everyone was all over the place!! It was a hoot! I had to try it out too. It's a lot of fun!!

The First Communion mass. Check out HannaRose's tattoo. hehee...she was at a birthday party that morning and came back with 2 new tattoos! Yes, they are temporary tattoos!

I'm realizing that we need a camera with a better zoom. That's Alec...the blur on the top right, with the black jacket. They were singing...it was pretty darn cute to watch!

Back to Duane and Cathy's for dinner and Duane had surprised everyone with a feed of lobsters! My favorite!! He pulled a couple of strings from home a had a bunch of lobsters shipped up. Greatly appreciate it brother!!

I think it was Dad's favorite part of the weekend too!

Or maybe it was the beer...hard to say!

And of course the cake. That's all the kids needed to see. They were at the table in a flash.

Very organized Cathy. I don't know how they do it...I couldn't keep up with their busy weekend!

Very quiet, happy children. If you want quiet children...just give them fun food. They don't move or speak. It's very peaceful!!

So, thanks to Duane and Cathy for having everyone at their home for the weekend. It was a great time and Shamus didn't want to leave. I really don't know how they do it. Alexander had his hockey tournament, Duane is the coach, Alec's First Communion, and HannaRose had 2 birthday parties between all this. Very busy family! But, we always have a great time when we visit!!!!

Thanks guys.

Getting Anxious!

Yeap, so I'm getting pretty anxious for our weekend. We leave for NYC on Saturday morning....reaalllly early...our flight leaves at 640am!! At least we will have 4 days there though. We're back on Tuesday night. So, this will probably be the last post for a bit - Darryl's parents arrive on Thursday, we leave on Saturday, back on Tuesday, my sister arrives next Thursday, Darryl's parents leave next Saturday, and my sister leaves the following Tuesday!! Did ya get all that?! Yeah, so pretty busy for the next while so I don't know if we'll be near a computer much. Probably not.
Anyhow, I'm trying to get myself organized for the trip and I'm trying to get the house/kids ready for Darryl's parents. I'm hoping for nice weather, here and in NYC, but it's not looking good. Lots of rain and thunder storms for the next few days. Can't complain though because the last couple of weeks have been beautiful. I'm trying to take advantage of my last while at home. Back to work on July 9!!
So, just wanted to post a couple of pics...I thought the ones of Darryl and Shamus "mowing" the lawn were cute. Shamus has to help Darryl with everything, so he helped mow too!
Shamus is totally at the "copying" stage...

Good job guys!

And the pictures below are at Centennial Park...it's a great park if you want to do a nice walk and then hit the playground with the kids.

Jaime and Jake

Rebecca is a great helper...she loves Breagha and takes good care of her.

Sima and Max...he just woke up...

Shamus is part monkey...he will climb anything! We really have to watch him.

A doctor really is always on call!! Poor Preetha...her pager is always going off....

Breagha relaxin'

Country folk ... City folk

Hey everyone ... Well it has been hectic in the MacPurdy household for the last couple of weeks. Hence, the reason for the lack of posting. So here is a short one. The city folk were out visiting us country dwellers. They needed a break from the movin' and shakin' of the big city and we love having the visitors. They get to tell us what the celebs are doing and what is the latest fashons and we show them how to survive in the wilderness with nothing but a shoelace and a partially eaten blue smartie. Yes ... how different our two worlds are but we find common ground in the love for good company and cold beer. So off we went to Pointe Claire village ... again. It really is a beautiful, relaxing place. I think Stacey and I spend so much time there because we want to make believe that we actually live in that part of Pointe Claire ... but alas ... we do not. However we are thankful we do live close. Hope you enjoy This could almost be a rock album cover.
This, however, could not.
I know this looks fun but Kristjan kept smack talkin' the kids and telling us all what inferior swingers we were.
That frog was frowning before Jolyne sat down.
Kris still with the smack talkin'
Very regal ... Is there royalty in Paul's blood. I think I see Charles' nose.
Those Brits really dig those Sears poses
That's all folks! enough with the swings already.

Pointe Claire Village...

We've been going to Pointe Claire Village about once a week the last little while. I love going there. It's only a couple of minutes from our house but I always feel like I'm back in Nova Scotia when I go. Which is the best feeling!!! It's along the water and very peaceful and relaxing. So, just wanted to show a few pics....

Shamus loves to go to the dock...where the boats go out and come in...

Hangin' out...

It's just a pretty area of Montreal...

The guys liked watching the kite boarding and sailing...Breagha just likes to watch the water...

Getting ready for the ice cream at Wild Willy's...the best part of PC Village!

Shamus trying to say "cheese" with a mouth full of ice cream!

Breagha relaxing

Shamus loves the view from Dad's shoulders...

And that's a basic PC Village outing. Walking along the water and getting ice cream!!!!

We Live for the Weekends!!

Yeap, even though I'm not working right now, I still live for the weekends too! We seem to be super busy these days but I'm enjoying it. We went to a friends place (Sima and Yves) last Sunday afternoon for a little get together and a yummy BBQ. There were 13 kids - 4 years old and under!! A bit crazy! The weather has been excellent...even though we're suppose to get rain tonight...we need it.

This is the backyard at Sima's. What a home!! We could fit our house in her frontyard!

Little Breagha hangin' out...

Nina...she's Ksenija and Dave's daughter. (I work with Ksenija)

Matteo (Preetha's), Rebecca (Jim/Annabel's), and Shamus. Enjoying their hotdogs!

Breagha and Jake (Jim's) enjoying the sunny day!

We got the kids out biking. Shamus loved it! He didn't want to come out after we got home so he and Darryl went for another tour on their own. Breagha wasn't too happy at first but she settled quickly and then fell asleep after 5 minutes!!

Getting ready for our first trek!

Shamus was pumped! Breagha...not so much.

We went to Centinnial Park and it was beautiful.

Awesome sunset...

Stopping to enjoy the scenery.
