Pointe Claire Village...

We've been going to Pointe Claire Village about once a week the last little while. I love going there. It's only a couple of minutes from our house but I always feel like I'm back in Nova Scotia when I go. Which is the best feeling!!! It's along the water and very peaceful and relaxing. So, just wanted to show a few pics....

We Live for the Weekends!!

Yeap, even though I'm not working right now, I still live for the weekends too! We seem to be super busy these days but I'm enjoying it. We went to a friends place (Sima and Yves) last Sunday afternoon for a little get together and a yummy BBQ. There were 13 kids - 4 years old and under!! A bit crazy! The weather has been excellent...even though we're suppose to get rain tonight...we need it.

We got the kids out biking. Shamus loved it! He didn't want to come out after we got home so he and Darryl went for another tour on their own. Breagha wasn't too happy at first but she settled quickly and then fell asleep after 5 minutes!!

Farewell Gozlando...

Well hello everyone. This weekend we said farewell to yet another friend leaving for "the land down under". Yes another one sent where the men love "roos" (not that there is anything wrong with that ...) and the toilets turn backwards. We started out at Pub St. Paul, a little pub in Old Montreal. After adequately loosening up our vocal chords with some fine ale and a couple of well placed shots we headed off for a late night, private, karaoke session. Yes that is right ... private karaoke. Below are a few of the pics from the night. So long Jeff ... you lovely Scottish bastard ... take your haggus and get out! BTW good luck in Aussiland and keep in touch.

Right after this, Julie threw her bra at Paul and the unhinged clasp scratched his cornea. One of the all too common injuries of a rock star. I don't like to brag ... but at this moment we were very close to rocking down to electric avenue.

I'm Completing my List!!

So, when Darryl and I moved to Montreal...in August 2002...I was pretty excited about all the things we were going to get to do and see. I knew that there were places I wanted to go and things I wanted to do. Now, here we are, almost 5 years later, and I'm just trying to finish my list!!

Here it is:
1/ Skihills and more skihills!!
We wanted to snowboard on as many hills as we could. And we did. We snowboarded about 12 hills since we moved to Quebec and I loved it. My top picks would be Sutton (in the Eastern Townships) and Le Massif (outside Quebec City). Quebec has awesome hills. And I can't wait to get Shamus and Breagha on a snowboard!! And I'm happy that my brother also snowboards so we got to try out a lot of these hills with him.

2/NHL game. And we can't complain...we've been to a few games in Montreal and in Ottawa - thanks to Duane! Of course I have not cheered for the Habs yet!!! Go Leafs Go!

3/Quebec City. What an amazing city. It's beautiful, has great history, great culture, and it's only a couple of hours away. I would tell everyone to go to Quebec City if they get the chance. I love going there and the Chateau Frontenac is so amazing to see.

4/Cirque du Soleil. Great show. Darryl loves Cirque du Soleil so I bought him tickets for his birthday a couple of years ago...to find out that he had also bought me tickets for my birthday! So, we went and we loved it. It's amazing what they can do. I'd love to get to another show but I'm happy that I got the chance to see it at all!!!

5/New York City!! Wheee-hoo! This is an exciting one for me! The tickets are bought, the hotel is booked, and I bought the Broadway tickets the other night! We're going to see "Tarzan" and I can't wait! It looks awesome! Check it out: http://disney.go.com/theatre/index.html#home

6/Just For Laughs. I've wanted to get to the Just For Laughs Festival since we arrived here. Well, I finally bought the tickets and we're going in July!!! The show is called "Defending the Caveman" and it's suppose to be really funny and this is the first time it's come to Montreal. So, I hope we like it!!

And that's my list. Of course there were other small things...like getting to Vermont...we went camping there, seeing the province of Quebec...more camping and snowboarding, and then just enjoying what Montreal has to offer. We've been to the Jazz Festival, we've been to the St. Laurent sidewalk sales, we've gone to Old Port for Canada Day, we've gone to Old Port for the Fireworks, we've been to the Christmas parades, skated on Old Port and LaFontaine Park, and just enjoyed the wondering streets of downtown Montreal.....the list goes on. I think we've done pretty good.

So, basically, once we do the trip to NYC and see the Just For Laughs show, we're ready to see somewhere new!!

Actually, I've been really enjoying things on the West Island lately. So, we'll just have to see where things take us.

Another Busy Week and Weekend!!!!!

Yes...another very busy week and weekend!!

Last week was pretty hectic. Darryl worked crazy hours!! One night until 1am! So, I had a busy week with the kids and poor Darryl was pooped! And he worked Saturday! The weather last week wasn't great...It was a bit sunny but only went up to about 14-15. (the week before went up to 26!!) But, we still got to the park every day last week and the kids enjoyed themselves. Breagha is starting to love the swings as much as Shamus!

On Friday night I had my end of the year Ringette Party. It was great to see all the girls. They're a fun bunch and they love to drink!! If we're here next winter I'll definitely join the team again...all the cranky old ladies are gone!

On Saturday night I had my "Dinner with the Mommies." There's a bunch of us that get together about every 2 months for dinner and drinks. It's a great way for us to spend time without kids! We love our children but it is nice to get out with friends and just relax...no chasing after any babies!

And on Sunday morning, Shamus and I had our Art Class. I don't know....he just can't keep his interest! Not sure if art class is a great idea for a 2 year old! And then we got home on time for Shamus to have a nap and then we headed off to Darryl's coworkers. We went to Bartek, Magda, and Klementine's house! Bartek and Darryl work at DamnFX together. It was my first time meeting him and his family and we had a super time! Clementine is their one year daughter and she's as cute as a buttom! We had a wonderful time and I'm sure we'll get together again soon. They have a beautiful home...Magda is an interior designer...so maybe she can give me some pointers!

So, it's Monday again and back to work! The weather has only been about 13-15 degrees for the last week and it looks the same for this week. But, at least it's sunny and not snowing! Tomorrow is the first of May!

I do need to get more on the ball with the camera. I never think to take the camera anywhere...unless the kids are involved! So, I'm going to work hard at taking the camera with us!
