A quick Home Office update...

Just wanted to give a home office update. I've been asked alot lately...did I start the home office, am I working downtown, do I like the home office?

So, I did start my home office this week. And I'm really liking it. I work 8-430 and at 430pm, I'm done and already home. It's wonderful. The daycare is very close to our house so the kids are picked up before 5pm, which I really like. We have time to hang out at the park before going home for supper. So, the home office is great.

I don't have to rush as much in the morning as Darryl and I are both there to get the kids ready. Darryl and I both get to see the kids before starting work...before one of us would have to leave home by 7am and Shamus isn't up until after 7. So, now we all get to spend some time together before work.

And Darryl's been taking Friday off the last few weeks. Which is also wonderful. Yesterday we went to Centennial Park. Enjoyed the hiking trails, packed a lunch, and spent time on the playground. Then I headed into the city for a haircut and colour. Found a new hairdresser! Yeap...Cari - you would be impressed. Very cheap. 88 bucks for colour, hairlights, cut, and styled. That's a great price for women!! So, I like that. And then I met up with Jolyne, Brian, Paul, Julie, and Suzy. Suzy was in from Winnipeg so it was great to spend time with her. We went to a new pub - Irish Embassy - on Bishop St. Nice place and our waiter was from Halifax! So, of course I was excited about meeting a fellow Maritimer.

Then Suzy, Jolyne, and I headed back to Jolyne's place for more wine (Thanks to Jo's Dad!!) and snacks. We did lots of catching up and I had a super time!! And it was nice to just stay in the city and not have to worry about getting home.

And now it's Saturday night and Darryl is hanging with the gang. It's Kristjan's last weekend here before moving back to England. They're having a BBQ at Jeremy's and then probably going out. So, I'm doing Blog Catch Up!!

My version of our Camping Weekend!!

While Shamus did a wonderful job at posting our camping trip, I thought I would show a few more pictures.

We went to Voyageur and had a terrifc time. It was Breagha's first time camping and she did great. She slept very well...even though she wakes up early now...usually around 630am. Yeap. Early. And we went with Ksenija, Dave, and the girls. And with Jim, Annabel, and the kids. So, very busy but lots of fun and the kids all did really well.

So, Jake started Friday off with a few beers. He apparently has a soft spot for Corona, just like his parents!!

The kids were so cute eating their meals. We had little camping chairs for them and they were all so darn cute!

We got a bit of rain on Friday night but it didn't stop anyone from roasting marshmallows! The kids loved the roasting part but they weren't so interested in actually eating the roasted marshmallows. So, I ate alot! I love them. Yummy!!

Saturday we all headed out to do some hiking thru the woods and along the water. It was a bit overcast in the morning which was a nice break from the heat. It's been quite hot lately so the cloudy weather on Saturday was perfect for hiking.

We had to stop so the kids could pick some flowers. It was really cute. That's Shamus hangin' with Helena and Nina (Ksenija's girls).

This was soooo cute! Dave started to read to Helena and slowly all the kids started to flock to him and the book. They were all so quiet and hanging off every word Dave said. It was adorable.

Saturday night - got all the kids in bed around 930pm. We were relaxing around the campfire when Belle took off into the woods. She came back within 5 seconds and something came back with her. A not-so-pleasant smell. Yeap, Belle got sprayed by a skunk! Oh, it was bad! The whole campsite was smmmmmelly! So, after some debating, Jim and Darryl drove the 40minutes back to Beaconsfield to get a Skunk Spray....worked really well. Thank God. After the skunk, this raccon kept caming to the site and wouldn't let up. It came right up to the picnic table and was trying to go thru our stuff. We had to "shooo" it off about 4 times! So, Saturday was our "experiencing the wild" night! This was Ksenija's first time camping and I hope this didn't scare her off!!

We went to the beach on Sunday. The hot, sunny weather was back so it was the perfect day for the beach. Too much excitement for Breagha and Jake though! They were sound asleep by the time we got to the beach. It didn't last for long though as there was just too much going on around them!

Darryl and Breagha and Shamus. Breagha is definitely like her big brother....she loves the water too. Her and Shamus will be starting swimming lessons again in September! Shamus is already close to swimming so I'm curious to see how he does.

Hey everyone... I know that mom or dad usually update the blog but I thought that I would submit the next post. I know what you're thinking ... How is a two year old able to post on a blog let alone use the internet. Well, secretly I have been spying on my parents when they are at the computer. From studying their actions and filtering the data through an integral of Laplacian inverse of Bessel functions. I then multiplied the result by ..... Well, I'm sure you get the point. The end result is a two year old capable of unimaginable internet atrocities.
With this new found power I decided to grab a group of friends and take off camping for a few days. Below are a few pics of our adventure.

So, I've been thinking...

Yeap, I've been thinking. I was talking to one of my co-workers yesterday. He's been working in our USA offices the last few months and we were doing catch up. I was giving him the latest news on the family and some of our plans. And he said, "So, you've got the perfect life right now." Not at all like it was last summer.

Hmmmm, it made me think. I am pretty darn happy. How many of us actually stop and think...am I happy? I don't usually ask myself this question. Until my co-worker made that comment. So, I guess things are going pretty good for us right now.

I'm back to work and enjoying it. I get to work 4 days a week and spend Friday with the kids. I'm having loads of fun with Shamus and Breagha and still getting alone time with Darryl. And our friends.

We're all healthy this summer and getting to enjoy ourselves. So, things are looking good right now. We had lots of family visit since Christmas and are getting to do things together. Not at all like last summer!!!! Breagha has her appointment at the Childrens Hospital next week so hopefully that will go well. She's been growing so well and is very strong. I can't believe she's the same baby as the little peanut from last summer.

And of course I have the most wonderful husband. 11 1/2 years together and he's still my best friend and a hotty! He's the best Dad and I think he's perfect.

Sooooo, I hope I don't jinx myself but this summer has been looking good!!!!

I hoping everyone reading this is truly happy too. I always say, "You only get to live your life once so make it good." And I really believe this. And I say to Darryl, "No looking back when you're 60 with regrets." I'll be pretty mad at myself if I do the whole...I wish I did this...I should of done this...

Nope, things are good.

Our Week...

So, we had another busy week. Week 2 at work. It's going quite well. I'm learning lots! And Breagha is starting to get used to daycare. Which is a relieve because it's hard to leave them at daycare when they're so upset.

Monday was busy as usual. And then Tuesday night we went downtown to visit with Jason, Lisa, and Baby Jack. Lisa and I worked together in Halifax. They live in Toronto and were on their way home to NB/NS. It was great to see the baby.

So, then Darryl and I both had Friday off and enjoyed the day with the kids. It was raining pretty hard so we stayed indoors. We headed downtown and took the kids to the Science Centre.

This was neat...the faster you pedal the more energy is created and the more appliances you power. Shamus couldn't reach the pedals, so it wasn't as much fun for him.
I'm sure if he could have gone all the way in he would have.

After checking out the Science Centre we took the kids to the Dinosaur IMAX movie. Darryl's company did the animation so it was cool to see. And Shamus is loving dinosaurs right now so it was great timing.

Saturday morning was back to downtown. Brunch with the city folk...It was great to see everyone.

Saturday afternoon was spent at the park. Shamus tried out his new baseball bat and ball. Pretty cute.

Congrats to Amanda and David...baby boy number 2 arrived!

Back to the Real World!!!!

Well, I went back to work last Monday. It went pretty well. I'm going to be working in the office for a couple of weeks...needed some training and want to make sure that I'll be ok on my own. Then I'll be doing a home office. It was nice to see everyone but I really will like the home office. I'll be working 8-430 and have Fridays off. So, it was pretty sweet on Thursday...it's already the weekend for me! I loved it! It was really nice and the week went by super fast.

So, Friday was spent with 5 other Moms and 7 other kids. Pretty busy day! We had a little pot luck and playdate with a few of the girls. It's a great way to spend the day with the kids. I really like that they only have 4 days at daycare.

Then Saturday night was "Just For Laughs". It was excellent!!! We went out to dinner with Preetha and Joe...a cute Mexican restaurant in Old Montreal. Great food and drinks. And then we headed off to the show. It was really, really good. Anyone that has been in a serious relationship would of totally laughed their ass off at this show. You could relate to everything the comedian said. It was totally worth seeing. I recommend it....the show plays in about 15 countries so keep your eyes out for it. It's called, "Defending the Caveman." And after the show was desert at Rockaberry. A yummy desert restaurant.

So, it was the perfect evening with my honey. We've been really lucky lately...we've been getting quite a bit of "alone" time so I'm liking that!!!!

And today was spent doing some work around the house....Darryl's putting in new handles on all the doors...and I did some gardening outside. Then we took the kids swimming in the afternoon. I think Breagha will be just like Shamus - lovin' the water!! She seems to enjoy it so we're putting them both in swimming in the fall.

Back to work tomorrow. We have friends coming in to visit this week - Lisa, Jason, and Baby Jack!!! They're heading home to Moncton and Cape Breton and are stopping in Montreal. So, it will be a treat to meet Jack. And then Duane and Cathy are heading home this week so hopefully they'll be stopping in too before they go.
