I love games

Yes, games are great. We had so many boardgames when I was a kid! And we played cards all the time! Loved it. Well, we have slowly been picking up boardgames that we can play with the kids and it's really been lots of fun. Breagha was given a Dora 8Game set from Mike and Mireille for her birthday and we've been playing different games almost every night!! Thanks so much guys. The perfect gift. It has everything from Old Maid, to Bingo, to the Memory Game. Really perfect for the kids.

I had to put the A&W root beer in the pic because it's a special treat from Canada! There is an international candy store near my office so every now and then I'll pick up a few yummies from home. Darryl loves root beer so he was happy with his A&W treat. I enjoyed my Coffee Crisp bar!

The kids are actually quite good at the games. It's great for them to learn how the rules work for each game and test their memory...and patience!

Ah, time for a little break! The kids also love music and like I've mentioned in past posts...Shamus thinks he is a rock star!
Something else we have been enjoying - "Where's Wally?" books. Amy was very thoughtful and picked up a couple of "Where's Wally?" books while she was home in England. Apparently I grew up under a rock because I had never heard of Wally! Now we're on the hunt for him and his friends all the time! They go on quite the adventures and the books can be addictive! Shamus is getting quite good at finding each character. Thanks guys!
And this is what we do most evenings! Play games, jam to the music, look for Wally, or on the lazy nights we enjoy a little movie/tv show.
We were also treated to a night out at THQ last Friday. THQ moved into their new studio about a month ago so it was a "welcome to the new studio" party. The company really went all out for the kids so a big thanks to them. They provided lots of entertainment and food and it was really nice to meet Darryl's new coworkers and families. There must have been about 25kids there and they were kept busy! The kiddies and I headed home around 7ish but Purdy find his way home after many beer and many games of pool! :)
Overall, things have been pretty great. Really can't complain. Well, I'd love to win the lottery so we could fly home and see our families!
Miss you all and I hope everyone enjoyed the
Mabou Ceilidh and the Antigonish Highland games!!
Wish we were there.

Hi Guys!
The Highland Games were great (as usual, we camped in at Whiddens, like half of Antigonish)! I was thinking of your pics of the Scottish festival in Brisbane last year! Board games are great fun! One that we play a lot as a family, though Moira needs the cards read to her, is Cadoo. It's designed as a family game for younger kids. It's one of the Cranium games.
Miss you all!! and Shamus definitely IS a rock star--just look at him!

Take care,
Kelly :)

Well it looks like you are all having tons of fun. I remember when a bunch of the purdy/kenny/macneils, sat around our kitchen table and played LIFE! Those were some crazy nights. By the way, Ticket to Ride is a wicked game! Well love and miss you all!

I want to find Wally too! Or Charlie as his French name is.

Please can we organise a Brisbane homage to the Antigonish Highland games??? That would be so much fun, New Farm Park anyone?? We can do Possum catch and toss for one event; any other suggestions anyone?

Also Dan and I recently discovered how to play Ticket to Ride (taught by former top 100 player herself s.Kate!!), I agree its an awesome game :)
