Our Visit to Limoges!

We went to see Darryl's sister and family on the weekend. It was great to see everyone because it had a been too long. Shawn couldn't get the time off work so we didn't get to visit with him.
We had a wonderful time and Shamus enjoyed his cousins! The girls did some shopping on Saturday afternoon...which I enjoyed of course. We went to Giant Tiger - that's a great store! It has everything! I picked up quite a few things and the prices are amazing. And then we had a nice BBQ and a few drinks. Darryl picked up some beer - 53. (that's the name of the beer) Apparently, Loblaws makes it. It was really good and only 13bucks for a case!!
Then we teamed up for board night on Saturday. Girls against the Guys in -Taboo...With a Twist. You had to draw the words. It was a really tough game and finally we just let the guys win. Justine and John were very detailed and creative in their drawings...maybe they'll be the next family animators!
And we got outside on Sunday. The weather was beautiful so we did some sledding. Well, the kids did because I was too big to even get on the sled! And we ended the afternoon with a nice walk around the neighborhood with Trac and the kids. It's always nice to spend time with family and I love seeing Shamus with his cousins. He gets a bit too wound up sometimes!!! But, it's fun.
John was a natural at snowboarding!!

Shamus enjoyed sledding with his cousins.

Ahh, made it to the bottom!!

Aunt Tracy and Breagha are having a nice rest together. And Mom was enjoying the rest too!!!

Justine took this picture of Shamus. I think she did a great job! Very centered and you can see the evil in his eye! She got the moment!

Ahhh, forgot to give thanks!!

Hi all

Sorry, but I keep forgetting to give thanks. Thanks again to Jolyne and Karine for being so kind and babysat for us and Duane and Cathy. Jolyne and Karine stayed over and babysat so we could go to the Habs and Ottawa game last Saturday. Or was that 2 Saturdays? Hmmm, time does fly doesn't it?

Anyhow, we really enjoyed the game. My brother is a huge Ottawa Senators fan so of course he was thrilled that they won 5-3. Actually, we were all happy!! Sorry Montrealers and English Kris....no Habs fans at our house!! I read Kristjan's blog about him going to the game. And I have to agree - Montreal fans are a lot of fun to be around. The atmosphere is great and exciting. My brother said that it's more fun to go to a game in Montreal than in Ottawa. Hmmm, I guess it's all you crazy Frenchies!!! hheeee...that comment was for Karine!

So, we got to go out, enjoy the game, we did drink the $10 beer, and then we went out after for a couple of drinks. And it was wonderful because there was no stress about the kids. We had the perfect babysitters!!! Thanks again guys.

We just need to get to a Habs and Leafs game!!!! Go Leafs Go!

Not even Harding and her henchmen can stop us!!!

Well after a long recovery and some gruelling physiotherapy the day has come to get back on the ice. Harding and her thugs went to jail, got released, went back in for finishing the Nancy Kerrigan job, were released again for good behavior and signed a deal for a movie of the week. Meanwhile, all Shamus' hard work has paid off and he is now on target to break the scoring title in 2018. Luckily Shamus got to test out his new plastic knee for the first time on his new skates, courtesy of his wonderful uncle Duane, aunt Cathy and his cousins Alexander, Hanna Rose and Calli. Thanks guys.Shamus said that if I tied his skates ... he'd tie mine.

Shamus was so patient teaching Stace how to skate.

Yes Mr. Crosby I'm comin' for you ... and your scoring title.

No News is Good News

So, I figured it was time to update our blog when Jolyne is telling me that it's time to update the blog!! All old news! Come on now, I'm just learning this whole blog process. I don't have the years of practice that Cari has! And I'm having a tough time with finding the time. It's seems like we're always busy.

Darryl started his new job on Monday. So far, so good. It looks like he'll be working on a couple of great projects. Hope so! We're crossing our fingers that he gets a couple of good shots and we'll go from there. Darryl had hockey, floor hockey, and I had ringette. And Wednesday was Valentine's Day!! We actually went out! Alone. Just the 2 of us. To the movies. It was great!! We went to see Hugh Grant's new movie - Music and Lyrics. If you're a Hugh Grant fan and grew up in any part of the 80's then you'll like this movie!! heheee....we enjoyed it. And we love Hugh's humour!!

Today we went to WymGym with Shamus (basically just a big play group) and then over to friends for lunch. And tonight we went out again for dinner to Preetha and Joe's (Matteo's parents). It was great. They had a few friends over and we had a nice Indian dinner. I'm slowly learning to like other foods!

Tomorrow we go to visit Jesse and then we hope to take the kids out to the park. Shamus really enjoyed "skating" last week so we'd like to take him out again. As long as it's not too cold. Next weekend we're going to Darryl's sisters in Ottawa...well, Limoges. Darryl's brother Shawn is going also so we'll definitely take some pictures for Darryl's family.

And that's it. Sorry that I don't have Darryl's "witty humour" but like I said...I'm green when it comes to all this so I need practice!!

Take care!

Isn't she beautiful?

This is what we do when it is minus 20.

Back to the sub-twenties ... so it is indoor recreation for us. Thank god we live next to a pool. It is cheap and a great way to wear the kids out before the evening comes. Oh sweet childs bedtime ... how I long for thee.
They sure do love the water!
Shamus' first time going down the waterslide on his own.

You would think that breagha was born in the water. Nothing seems to phase her.

No tarzan swing ... but at least I have a Dad!

What we do when it is not minus 20!

Well I know we have lived in Canada our whole lives and we should be hardened veterans ... seasoned pros, if you will, of "The Canadian Winter". But when it is sub-twenty celsius who, in their right mind, can ever get used to that! So when the temp reaches a balmy -11 (and sunny) you take advantage of it ... you pounce like a fat kid on a smartie!

She was so cozy ... we just left her there for the night.

Look it is the 2010 pairs gold medalists

Look out Sidney Crosby ... There is a new "new Great One" in town.

This was just before a masked man jumped out of the bushes and hit Shamus in the knee with a lead pipe. Poor little guy ... his skating career is over. Oh well I guess, now, he can start his sports broadcasting career.

Update on the Kiddies!!!

Good morning all!

I wanted to give our families an update on the kids since they both had their doctors appointment this week.

Shamus was terrified that the doctor was going to give him a needle....bad memories...so he pretty much stuck to me like glue...and cried on and off the whole visit...good times.... Shamus now weighs 26lbs!! He's in the 25% for his weight (hehehe....skinny boy!) and he's in the 75% for his height. And little Breagha is not little anymore!! The doctor agrees that she's getting quite big and has lots of rolls! She is now 13lbs! She's already half of Shamus' weigh and she's 7months...corrected age is 4months! So, she's bigggggg! She also got her 2nd flu shot and her synagis shot. So she's all set.

And that's it for the kids. They're doing well. Shamus is sleeping much better in his own bed and Breagha woke up at 8am the last 2 days!! Gotta love that! I'll never be able to get up for work in July!! eeeekkkk

Duane and Cathy are coming back in this weekend and we're going to the Montreal/Ottawa game. Can't wait. Jolyne and Karine have been kind enough to babysit for us and Duane. Good luck guys!!!

And as soon as Duane sends me some pictures of Alec's tournament last weekend, I'll get them posted. He played very well and we really enjoyed the games. Novice A is very intense!!!!

So, today is Darryl's last day at A2M. Lots of lunches and lots of GoodByes to say. A2M is a great company...they're great to their employees...but I think he made a great choice and hope he likes the new job!!!

Recipe for a good weekend...

Hey everyone it's been a few days since the last post. I must say that three day weekends are awesome. Definitely the way to go. I have extra vacation this year and I have been using it to take Fridays off for the last few weeks. Man is it sweeeeeet!!!. The following is a recipe for a great long weekend:
The most important thing is to start the weekend by sleeping-in.

Breakfast ... the most important meal of the day. Breagha's first taste of cereal.

Let's cruise over to see Jesse.
Oh my god!!! Please give me my fingers back. I'll get you something to eat.

Lunch, lunch, lunch....wait a minute...it's a rubber toy. Yep....lunch, lunch, lunch.

Some midday exercise.

mmmmmm .... nice lite supper.

A little race around the block before calling it a weekend.
