Yes, we are safe. The forest fires are around Melbourne area, which is very far from us. Maybe a 20 hour drive...because Canadians measure distance by the hours of driving. (funny)
It's pretty horrible though and I heard today at work that it may have been a fire fighter that started the first fire. Terrible. We're doing some fundraising at work and people have been very generous. It's really sad to see towns destroyed, families gone, animals gone...just horrible.
The floods are in northern Queensland (QLD is the state we live in but Brisbane is south). They are also struggling but seem to be better than the fires. I have just stopped reading/watching/listening to the news because it's just too darn depression. Eeeegghh, awful.
Work wise - well, I don't want to get into work on the blog. But, it's not good. Who knows but we could be home really soon! Ya never know what could happen but it's not looking too good. We're just going to ride the wave for now and see where it takes us.

Glad to hear you are all safe and sound. I'm hearing from a lot of friends in Australia "we're all okay...it is nowhere near us!" :)
As for work, sorry to hear things appear to be going down the crapper. Maybe we'll see you sooner rather than later. Everyone is moving home to NS if it is any consolation. James, Devin, Todd...Brian just moved home from Toronto on Monday and is staying with us until he finds a place. We should try to hook up on Skype this weekend!
Hope 'the work situation', straightens itself out. Montreal seems to be stable computer animation wise... well must be one of the most stable citys for that in the world right now... hint, hint.

Thanks for the shirts for Cole and Tyler. And Kendra wants to give you a special thanks for the cookies!!! It's so nice to have something from Australia. We have some Christmas gifts for you guys that we didn't get sent out. It ended up getting quite hectic with Kendra's father having the heart attack just before Christmas.
