Ok, trying to get back on track...

Yeah, I'm trying to get back on track!
There's been no pictures for a while and I'm getting harassed! I'm not going to make everyone suffer and post 50 pictures...so just a few quick pics of the last couple of weeks.
Here is Jolyne and Alexandre. This is at Evelyne's place in Thetford Mines (outside Quebec City). Their spot is beautiful...

You guys look too cute!

And Eric took Shamus for a ride on the 4 wheeler. He was a little nervous at first but got over it quickly!

And some shots of the kids at swimming class....

Dad and Breagha. She was pretty darn cute!

The instructors are great. They do alot of different things so it keeps the kids busy...no chance to get bored.

Shamus was pretty proud of himself..."swimming" on his own!

He's darn cute too!
And of course we're still making lots of trips to the park!! Darryl took last Friday off...so he could spend the day with us before he headed for NS. The weather was amazing. We took the train into downtown. Shamus was pumped. You couldn't wipe the smile of his face when the train started moving. Pretty adorable. And we spent the morning downtown, had some lunch, did some shopping. And then back to Pointe Claire for a visit to the park...

Breagha has had her cranky moments over the last week or so. I think it was because I was away for 3-4 days....she was obsessed with me when I got back. But she has been improving this week. Now Darryl is away so she'll probably become obsessed with me again!

The boys relaxing....

Darryl was trying to show Shamus how to roll down the hill. Quite entertaining to watch...Shamus hasn't quite figured it out yet.

Lots of leaves are falling off the trees. Fall is beautiful. I really enjoy every season. It always gives you something to look forward to....like shopping! Bought a new fall jacket...that's always fun!

Shamus the DareDevil.
Relaxing before heading home. I don't know how many nice days are left. But, we're making the most of it.
So, Darryl is in Antigonish and enjoying his time with family. Sorry to the Halifax gang. It's a quick trip to see his sisters and parents. No time to make pitstops!!
We spent Thanksgiving in Ottawa. Of course the food was delicious and there was too much of it! Shamus didn't want to go home. It was pretty cute. He has a blast with his cousins. And Calli and HannaRose love to "take care" of Breagha. They're going to be super babysitters!
We miss Darryl and can't wait for him to come home!

Yes, I'm still here and kickin'...

So, it's been a while. I think it's been about 3 weeks? Well, I started out with just needing a break from the computer. A break from email and the blog. It was really nice. I'm going to continue with the blog but I'm only going to post about every 7-10 days. I can't say that our life is that wild that anyone will be missing out on crazy news!!
It's been the same routine for us. Jolyne, the kids, and I went to Thetford Mines 2 weekends ago (Sep22)...went to visit Evelyne (worked with her in Halifax), Eric, and their cute, little boy, Alexandre. We had a great time. They have a wonderful, cozy home in the country and it was very relaxing. It felt like being back in Cape Breton in the fall. The leaves were all changing colours and lots of rolling hills. Beautiful. They made a yummy fondue and the drinks were flowing. Too well. I had a MAJOR hangover on Sunday. It was a rough drive back but by the time we returned I was feeling better. Thanks to Jolyne for helping with the drive back! And thanks to Evelyne and Eric for being such great hosts! I had a wonderful time and I hope we do it again soon. Maybe we can get them to come to Montreal....
The kids starting swimming class last weekend. They did great. We were worried that Shamus wouldn't like the class...he is on his own in this class...no Mom or Dad! But, he did super. He didn't mind going on his own and did really well. And Breagha seemed to enjoy herself too so all went well.
This weekend is Thanksgiving and Darryl is going home to NS. His sister, Steph, is home from BC and the family hasn't seen her in years.... So, it will great for him to hang with the siblings and his parents for the week. But, we'll miss him!!
I'll get on the ball and post some pictures soon...I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things! Post again soon!

Are you there?

Hey everyone,

So you might be wondering where we have been lately. As Stacey does the bulk of the posting on this blog ... she decided to take a break for a bit. We are waging a small war on internet communications. Stacey's (temporary?) withdrawl from blogging and my permanent withdrawl from facebook, one can only assume, has dealt the mighty internets a severe blow. Yes it is only a matter of time before the world wide web crumbles. So break out your eight tracks and 4.5 inch floppys cause it is time to regain our past.

Untill our next post ( in 2024) I hope the future finds you well.

be well.

Doesn't get much Cuter than this...

Well, that's how I feel anyway. This post may not relate to everyone...but as a parent...it will. Or if you ever babysat for friends/family.

You go to check on the kids. They've been sleeping for a while but you go to make sure that they aren't tangled in the rungs in the crib, or half hanging off the bed! Which Shamus and Breagha are good at. You go into their room and just fall in love with them all over. They could have driven you CRAZY all day, but to watch them sleep ... it the best thing. They just look so peaceful and sweet. It's one of the best feelings as a parent.

They're growing so fast!! Shamus talks alllll the time. And Breagha is into everything. It's pretty awesome. Gets a bit hectic sometimes but we still love it.

Birthday Cake Anyone?

We went to Ottawa on the weekend. Justine turned 9 and had her first Slumber party. She was pretty excited about it...very cute.
So, this is Breagha trying out Justine's birthday cake on Saturday. It was pretty funny to watch her eat the choclate cake. She tried to get every last crumb!! She is enjoying "real food". And of course Shamus had a wonderful time with his cousins. He loooooves to follow John around everywhere.

And for some family news - Tracy and John are expecting a new baby!! Yeah, big news in the Purdy Family. Tracy is about 3months pregnant. They're very excited! Congrats guys!

It was great to see everyone. We went to Duane and Cathy's on Saturday evening. Shamus loves going on the trampoline with Calli. And we always have a great time with Duane and Cathy...always good food and drinks!

Is it Thursday Already?

Ok, weeks are flying by! We'll be shoveling snow before we know it!

It's Thursday already and I think we may head off to Ottawa tomorrow. Do some visiting with the family.

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of Labour Day. The weekend was great and all is well.

Breagha is getting VERY daring. We really have to keep an eye on her. Not like Shamus at all.

This picture is from Monday morning. We sat her on the floor to play and turned around...a minute later she was standing up and holding onto the counter! No wonder she's had so many bumps on the head! And very proud of herself too! She's going to be into eeeeverything soon.

Giving Darrylie some luvin'. Can't forget about him!

Centennial Park had games for the kids and a BBQ. Shamus had a blast. Then we went walking on the paths along the water. It's a great park. Actually got a picture of all of us...which never happens!!

Relaxing by the water. Shamus wanted to down into the water of course. And that was Labour Day!!

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

A Fun Filled, Busy Week!!

Another typical week....work and play.
Work has been going well. Back into the swing of things. And Darryl's company has been pretty quiet so he's getting home at a decent time. I'm sure that will come to an end when they start their new project! But, it's great for now and great that it's down time during the summer months. Hard to believe that it's the first of September. The summer flew by but we had a wonderful time...better than last year!
I registered the kids for swimming class. Shamus will be on his own for this class so we hope that he'll do ok. He and Breagha love the water so hopefully they'll enjoy themselves.
I had Friday off and it's a long weekend so 4 days off!!
We headed over to Ksenija's on Friday morning. We had a terrific time with Ksenija and the girls and with Anabel and the kids. Ksenija lives very close to the water and the park so it was perfect. The weather is still great so enjoying that too!

A new park to try out!!!

Breagha and Nina...

Rebecca and Helena hangin' out....they're the big kids of the group!

Nina and Shamus testing out the airplane. The kids all get along so well and the Mom's love to get out of the house!

Ksenija lives in Dorval. It's a great area. She's about 2 blocks from the water and it's very pretty. Just like Pointe Claire Village...they even have Wild Wily's Ice Cream!

Breagha relaxing by the water.

And Anabel and Jake got to do some relaxing too!

Of course Shamus had to check everything out. It was hard to keep track of all the kids! They don't keep still!

So, that was Friday. We had the Preemie Picnic on Saturday. The Royal Victoria Hospital hosts a Preemie Picnic every few years...they haven't had one in 6 years so there were lots of kids! It's a great way to see all the nurses and it's wonderful for them to see Breagha...and Shamus. Shamus was only in the NICU for a couple of weeks but some of the nurses that looked after him are still there. The nurses were very happy to see how well Breagha is growing.

Getting ready for the Preemie Picnic....

A little snack before heading downtown.

They had a lot of stuff for the kids to do.

Needless to say...Shamus did not want to go home.

Oh, good times were had!

Breagha and I touring the area...

Our 2 favorite nurses were there. Debbie (beside me) and Lousie. Louise looked after Breagha when she was first born. (there are 4 rooms and as the baby gets better/stronger/older she moves onto the next room...until it's time to go home!!) Breagha started in the 2nd room. So, Louise looked after her until she got to the 3rd room and then Debbie took over. Debbie was one of her main nurses until she came home. The nurses are all amazing but you always have your favorites!
Dad and Shamus were enjoying some of the entertainment!
There was also a clown/magican...he was pretty good. He did this neat trick....he got these 4 guys, sat them on chairs, and then pulled each chair out from underneath them. And they didn't fall down!

With chairs....

Without chairs...

I thought it was pretty cool. The guy in the front is quite big and he didn't even bulge when the chair was pulled out. Cool trick!

So, the Preemie Picnic was lots of fun. The RVH is a great hospital and I'm so glad that we had Shamus and Breagha there. Thank God that Anabel and Jim got us a doctor!!!!

So, today is Sunday. Got a few things done around the house, took the kids out to the park/for a walk. And Darryl and I plan to relax in front of the TV with a movie.

We may head off to Centennial Park tomorrow. There are some things going on for the Labour Day weekend celebration. We'll see tomorrow!!!
